peaceful morning sunshine

Today, freezing rain pellets are being driven against my windows by a relentless, gusty wind.  There have been some moments of loveliness, though, in this difficult, slow spring.

This old house is not the greatest light-catcher, to my never-ending regret.  I think I would be a much more successful, well-rounded person, if only I were surrounded by more light.  The window-wells here are deep, and the place was built to exclude the elements, not let them in.  But a few mornings ago, I came downstairs to find the kitchen table in such a pretty, peaceful morning light, I just had to take some photos.

Can you feel the quiet?  (can you see the dust bunny?  :) )

A house isn't a home without a family of dust bunnies, IMO!

Enjoy your moments of peace and light whenever and wherever you may find them.

Can't see the dust bunny, but I can feel the serenity! There is something special about the early morning spring light.

I loved this post because it reminds me of myself. I am a freak about light, especially when taking photos. There is a certain kind of light that makes me go grab my camera, but it (my camera) is not sophisticated enough to capture it the way I want. I know when I get married, my wedding time will be set so that the photos capture that late afternoon pre-sunset glow! ;)

There's dust there??? I really love your house, but I do know what you mean. My mom's house is about 150 years old and the sunlight is really hit or miss. Sometimes, just pouring in two windows, other parts of the day, dark.

I'm kind of envious of your perfectly clean table. I struggle with that! I think I'd be a much more successful person if I could keep that darn table cleared off!!

I think your home is lovely, and quite serene...peaceful and homey. You do seem to have a natural affinity for the style of decorating I especially like.
