Or is it?...... This long-awaited season has made its appearance in the form of atmospheric skies, low-hanging clouds, and rain.
And while the trees and plants are rather lush, optimal growth, as it turns out requires huge amounts of sunshine.
I really do appreciate the fact that this is perfect strolling weather, where a girl can gaze upon all of the lovely lush and luxuriant growth (while not even breaking a sweat)....
But all the while I can't help craving those hot, humid, unforgiving days, the days when you can really unfold and unclench whatever it was that collapsed in on itself during that endless winter. I want to complain, and whine and fan myself, while saying the words spoken since time immemorial: "hot enough for ya?".......and the always popular "I'm just no good in this heat".
P.S. I seem to have no blogging manners, since I tend to fall off the face of this blog on a regular basis, without explanations. All is well, just another uneventful summer,....except for the blackberries. Those were good this year. And I got a canoe. Other than that, same old,....thanks for asking. Will try to be more regular.

Lovely pictures and thoughts! Thanks for that.
beautifully written post, great pictures as always! I've done a bit of that falling off the blogosphere myself.
How much have you taken your canoe out? love canoeing yet we never get around to it, hmmmm, must go soon.
btw, I tagged you recently if you are interested.
Lushessly greenage photos (I like to make up words). You write so well too. You'll have to let us know how the canoeing goes.
I think you are getting all of our rain! We have had unseasonably dry, hot weather. We need rain, it keeps everything lush and growing! And helps the hay farmers, at least, a little bit of rain! :)
Hey! Good to hear from you! What color was that Lupine? I will guess purple or rose:) They capture the rain drops so well! Same ole same ole is a good thing..enjoy your canoe!! We have been cool and dry here, finally got much needed moisture to pull the lawn out of dormancy..it has been a weird summer weatherwise..only one day near 90..what happened to the global warming? :)
Love this! You got a canoe - cool! Pictures please...
Oh, and if you want to be more regular, try some bran flakes... ;-)
Oh glad you are back...but dont worry about the blogging manners. We know you have a life! We were enjoying some cool weather here, but that is over now. Back to hot and muggy.

Whoo darlin' - be careful what you ask for!! Here in the usually complacent pacific nw, we have been experiencing extremely high temperatures. For the last week it's been in the mid to upper 90's and this week, we are due for triple digits!! And you can bet there is plenty of fanning and complaining going on around here. But, you're so right!! I am elmost enjoying the complaining about how very hot it is, and how I just can't seem to tolerate the heat like I used to. Too funny!! We are just never happy are we??
