We have a great many blue jays around our place. They are thriving and vigorous, due to the fact that they dive-bomb the dog food on a regular basis. They're quite plump, really. My youngest found this feather in the snow, and I thought I would update my header. I seem to have a bit of a feather theme going on.
Thank you for everyone's comments on the kitty standoff. I suppose patience is the key. Have a great day!

Just read your comment on my blog, the park is in Langley. Near 8th avenue. Should you ever be down here, try to visit it, aside from the breakin in my car, it is a gorgeous park.
I would assume those are chickadees, and because there are so many people feeding them all the time, they have no fear of people. We stopped to take a photo, and the birds lighted on my hand that was holding the camera. So I held out the other hand, but it was to close to focus. I had Gar hold out his hand, it really was a amazing feeling, they are so trusting.

Love the colour of that feather!
Love the new header!
The contrast is just exquisite!
We have a different species of blue jay around here: the pinon jay. They don't have those pretty black stripes and they fly in flocks to raid bird feeders.

I love seeing the jays in winter against the snow...a splash of color. Your photos are so beautiful...I am wondering what kind of camera you use?
Another storm today...school is closed!
