the back-up dog

In case you were concerned about safety out here in the boonies, rest assured that our canine protection system does have a back-up.  He, however, does not want his real name used , nor does he want his foibles outlined here on this blog.  I protested that only two people (give or take one) read this blog, but he was not to be budged.  He told me that he would like to be known only as the shadow.  You sure do have your work cut out for you, dude.
